Llansteffan is ideal if you want to relax and lose yourself or if you would like to see the sites and attractions of West Wales, as most of the popular things to do are no more than a short drive away. The village itself offers a variety of activities such as fishing, sailing, tennis, horse riding, bird watching and walking. There is a children's play area to the rear of the cottage as well as one on the beachfront. Also at the rear is a large playing field and cricket ground.

Carmarthen town is ten minutes away and is the oldest market town in Wales. A variety of shops can be found here as well as the famous indoor and outdoor markets. A superb 18-hole golf course is just a short drive outside the town. Within a 40 minute drive can be found Laugharne, home to Dylan Thomas' Boathouse, the seaside town of Tenby, Oakwood Park - offering exciting rides! Ritec Quad Bikes, The National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Folly Farm Adventure Park and The Gwili Railway. The towns of Haverfordwest, Pembroke, Llanelli and Swansea are also close by as well as many art and craft centres. An indoor leisure centre is located 5 minutes from Llansteffan. The Towy Boat Club is also to be found between Llansteffan and Carmarthen.
